Swing for Health Golf Classic presented by Indian River Medical Center Foundation:

We wish to thank everyone who made our 2009 tournament a success.

Indian River Medical Center Foundation held its 20th Annual Swing for Health Golf Classic on Dec. 7, with a sold-out field of 128 golfers, who enjoyed a beautiful day at Hawk’s Nest Golf Club. The event raised more than $70,000 to benefit Indian River Medical Center. Proceeds from the Golf Classic provide valuable funds necessary for special projects at the hospital supported by the Foundation.

The overall, low-gross winners were Lanse Padgett, Ladd Aliff, Tom Corr and Bob Quaile.

At a reception following the tournament, H. Van B. Richard was honored as "Golfer of the Year." Richard has played in the Golf Classic for the past 15 years, beginning at age 80. Now, at age 95, he scored a win in the tournament along with his son-in-law Guy Fritts, Gene Feinour and Jack Meyer with a third low-net score of 54.
